Overview

The Tax farm was divided into Untertaxen and Obertaxen when it first appeared in 1545 until the middle of the 18th century.

The tradition of the Unterberger family on the Tax farm begins with the purchase of the Untertaxen estate by Matthias Unterberger (also: Hinterberger) in 1687. His great-grandson Michael Unterberger was then able to combine the two estates around 1750.

As a result, the Salzburg State Archives then recommended that the tax farm be given the “Erbhof” award. And yes, it is still an inherited farm today.

As the host family, they are always personally on site and always there for you. To ensure peace and privacy and to conserve natural resources, they do not carry out daily maintenance of the apartments.
