The history of Getafe is a reflection of the history of Spain. From the early settlements in prehistory up until the middle ages, there was no formal foundation of a town, but the area has seen the development of early humans. Until the middle ages, the city became what it is today but still a rural community that only until the XX century has seen rapid growth that continues to this day. Its closeness to Madrid, the development of industries, and the settlement of Spanish Air Force Bases and industrial areas have made the city a place where people can work and live and have given the town a prosperous development.

This road has over a 2km extension, and you can find shops, restaurants, and city landmarks.

By staying here, you will be at a walkable distance to several favorites among locals to visit, such as Plaza de la Constitución. Visit Espacio Mercado, an art showroom near the plaza where you can enjoy different temporary exhibitions throughout the year. Close to this area, there are plenty of great food options, such as Vinoteca La Esquinita at Calle Don Fadrique; with its selections of local wines and beers, you can enjoy delicious tapas in the heart of the city at a short walk from your stay. Have dinner at Casa de Pías and enjoy local food at a vintage house from the early XX century in Calle Escuela Pías or enjoy excellent seafood at Marisquería Palas, a highly rated restaurant on the main road.
