A neighborhood with plenty to do. – What to know before visiting.

Before Las Delicias became the cultural spot it is today; it was a rural area within the limits of Madrid. One of the first parts of the site that became urbanized was Paseo de las Delicias, an avenue that runs directly to the Manzanares River, the main river of the Community of Madrid and the only one that runs through Madrid’s Center. The neighborhood started to develop after the industrialization of the city and the creation of different city railways, such as Puerta de Atocha Train Station in the Atocha neighborhood and the former Delicias Station, now the Railway Museum and the Ferrocarril de las Delicias Theme Park.

Enjoy the transformation of this neighborhood by visiting its reformed railway area. Here you will find several great spots, such as Centro Deportivo Cultural Delicias, a cultural center with a sports complex in the heart of Las Delicias. Enjoy the performing arts at Espacio Ibercaja Delicias, close to the Exhibition Hall El Aguila, located at a former beer factory from 1914 and now serves the community with a free art gallery with cultural activities and art exhibitions. Discover here the Biblioteca Regional Joaquín Leguina to discover books and documents relevant to the history of Madrid in an industrial brick building.

Las Delicias Neighborhood and Legazpi Neighborhood share Enrique Tierno Galván Park. Here you can enjoy the natural urban areas and visit the Madrid Planetarium, one of the city’s main attractions.
