The town was a Roman campsite around 25 BCE, and it grew under Roman control until the end of the wall’s construction around 325 CE. Discover this remnant of the Roman era in many of the city’s archaeological sites, such as the Roman house and temple of Domus Mitreo, Casa dos Mosaicos, the Roman Pool, and the Roman Aqueduct.
Enter the city from one of the many gates of the Roman Walls of Lugo, the most preserved Roman wall in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
