Welcome to one of the most exclusive Barcelona districts, Sarrià-Sant Gervasi. Situated in the upper northwest of the city and at the feet of the Collserola Mountain range is Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, one of the biggest districts of the city, with a laid-back environment, residential feel, and the one with the highest per capita income. Two separate rural towns made up the district that was added to the city between the late XIX and the early XX century, creating the neighborhood that it is today, with parks, lookouts, modernist architecture, and excellent gastronomy in one of the lesser-known areas of the city.

The exclusive district of Barcelona. – What to know before visiting.

Sarrià-Sant Gervasi is one of the most distinctive areas of the city of Barcelona. Here you will find several great spots to discover the city in a residential environment. This district has the highest per capita income in an area with several universities and private schools. Still, also it is a great place to discover the beautiful views of the city from the Collserola Mountains range due to its privileged location.

Enjoy great spots to look at the city from above, such as the hilltop observatory established in 1904 by Observatori Fabra or the modern Torre de Collserola designed by the British architect Norman Foster in 1991. Close to these district landmarks, you can find the Antiga Biblioteca Almirall, a 1924 library transformed into an event venue and cultural center with a fantastic view of Barcelona’s Coastline. Visit the Temple of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, situated on the Tibidabo hilltop and close to the industrial era building of  Torre de les Aigües de Dos Rius and the amusement park from the early XX century, the Parc d’atraccions Tibidabo, overlooking the city. Get here by car or using Tibidabo Cablecar and discover the magic of Sarrià-Sant Gervasi and Tibidabo Mountain.

Down to the urban areas of the district, you will discover the architecture hidden on the streets of Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, which makes it a place sometimes compared to London for its neoclassical architecture without losing the magic of the XX-century modernism of Catalonian architecture. Come upon the work of the famed Catalonian architect Antoni Gaudí hidden on the district’s streets, such as Portal Miralles, a gateway in the middle of a residential area. Discover the neo-gothic period of Gaudí with the Bellesguard Tower from 1916. Enjoy the classical architecture of Pedralbes Palace Gardens, or visit the mysterious and romantic gardens bridges of the Jardins de ca n’Altimira
